Internet Explorer Tries again I don't know if anyone remembers the statement from Brian Countryman in May 2003 in an interview on Internet explorer. "As part of the OS, IE will continue to evolve, but there will be no future standalone installations. IE6 SP1 is the final standalone installation." Consistent with Microsoft untold philosophy with changing things only when there position is under threat, Internet Explorer 7 beta 1 has been recently released to MSDN Subscribers and it aims to fix all those bugs web developers gripe about, oh and its a standalone installation if you haven't guessed yet - for users of Windows XP Service Pack 2 at least.
According to SpreadFirefox.com There have been 70 million plus downloads to date. As an Opera user I find this figures alone outstanding. But you can never write off Microsoft. Author: Mark Doktor on 30-07-05 05:38:28
Microsoft's Vista FeelingMicrosoft has named its upcoming new release of its ever popular Operating System from project name Longhorn to Vista, with an expected release in the second half of 2006 (statement usually followed by token "dont hold your breath"). Microsoft has released some screenshots which suggests that at least it looks good.
On another note the hyped Genuine Advantage a validation system for checking the authenticity of Microsoft's Products was compromised in 24 hours. It will be easy to fix, but you have to think does microsoft really want to make a fool proof anti-piracy system.

keyboard For all occasionsEver wished your keyboard keys would show what they did in a dynamic fashion, especially for playing games. The Optimus keyboard is an example of a simple concept that can have a wide application. Each key is a display and can change depending on the application your using. The keyboard can even dislay the icons of which programs your currently using and switch to them on a touch of a button Author: Mark Doktor on 27-07-05 17:12:41
